How to open System Configuration (msconfig) in Windows 10

Here is how to open msconfig and create its shortcut in Windows 10.
Control Panel
Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools and double-click the System Configuration shortcut.
Run or Command Prompt
1. Open Run or Command Prompt.
2. Type msconfig
and press ENTER.
Shortcut
If for some reason the System Configuration shortcut doesn't exist in Administrative Tools, then you can create it as described below.
1. Right-click on an empty space of any folder on the computer.
2. Select New > Shortcut.
3. Type %windir%\system32\msconfig.exe
and click Next.
4. Type System Configuration and click Finish.
5. Right-click the created shortcut and select Properties.
6. On the Shortcut tab put the following text into the Comment field:
Perform advanced troubleshooting and system configuration
7. Click OK.
